AI for business

We Tried 3 Different AIs — Here’s What We Found

AI is everywhere right now and if you’re like most businesses, you’ve probably experimented with at least one tool (or you’re trying to figure out where to start).

At BEI, we wanted to move past the hype and test things for ourselves. As an AI-certified team, we’re constantly evaluating new technologies to understand what actually works in real business environments and not just in theory.

So, we put three of the most talked-about AI tools to the test: ChatGPT, ClaudeAI, and Microsoft Copilot.

Here’s what we found after using them in real, everyday business scenarios.

The Test

We didn’t run technical benchmarks, we used these tools the same way your team would:

  • Writing emails and internal messages
  • Summarizing documents and meetings
  • Creating marketing content and ideas
  • Answering IT and cybersecurity-related questions

Because if it doesn’t help in your daily workflow, it doesn’t really matter.

ChatGPT: Best All-Around for Speed & Flexibility

ChatGPT stood out right away for its versatility. It handled just about every task we threw at it and adapted quickly to different tones and formats.

Where it worked:

  • Drafting emails and content quickly
  • Brainstorming and idea generation
  • Rewriting or simplifying complex information

Where it struggled:

  • Can occasionally sound generic without guidance
  • May require fact-checking for technical accuracy
  • Doesn’t natively connect to your business data by default
  • Can have security issues, so remember to handle confidential documents with care

ChatGPT is a great all-purpose tool but it works best when you guide it and double-check outputs.

Claude: Strong Writing, More Thoughtful Tone

Claude impressed us with how natural and polished its writing felt. It leaned more conversational and “human,” especially in longer pieces.

Where it worked:

  • Long-form content and articles
  • Clean, structured summaries
  • More thoughtful, less robotic tone

Where it struggled:

  • Slower responses at times
  • Less effective for quick, task-based outputs
  • Limited direct integration with business tools

Claude is great for writing quality but not always the fastest or most workflow-friendly option.

Microsoft Copilot: Best for Business Integration

Copilot stood out in a different way. It’s not just a chatbot, it’s embedded directly into tools businesses already use (like Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel).

Where it worked:

  • Drafting emails inside Outlook
  • Summarizing meetings in Teams
  • Working directly with company documents and data
  • Automating parts of day-to-day workflows

Where it struggled:

  • Less flexible for creative or open-ended tasks
  • Requires proper setup and licensing
  • Still benefits from user input and oversight

Copilot is the strongest option for productivity inside your existing ecosystem. It’s less about standalone use and more about integration.

So… Which One Is Best?

The honest answer: it depends on how you plan to use it.

  • Need a flexible, do-it-all assistant? → ChatGPT
  • Focused on writing quality and readability? → Claude
  • Want AI built into your business tools? → Copilot

Each tool has real value but none of them are “set it and forget it.”

The Bigger Lesson: AI Still Needs a Human Layer

Across all three tools, one thing was clear:

AI is powerful but it still needs guidance.

  • It doesn’t fully understand your business context
  • It can make confident mistakes
  • It works best when paired with human oversight

At BEI, being AI certified means we don’t just use these tools, we understand how to implement them responsibly, securely, and effectively for real business outcomes.

Don’t Overlook Security & Data Privacy

This is where many businesses get caught off guard.

When using AI tools, you should always consider:

  • What data are you entering into the tool?
  • Is that data being stored or reused?
  • Does the platform meet your security requirements?

This is especially important when dealing with sensitive business or client information.
